Interesting things happen when we use technology in a way the designers didn’t intend. I enjoy using the iPhone’s portrait mode to take pictures of things other than faces.
It’s touchy – if the camera doesn’t think it’s looking at a face, often it won’t engage. But if you get just the right distance from the subject, and click the shutter at just the right time as the phone is trying to figure things things out, you can get fascinating results.
