As much as I wish I could write about every author visit I do, there just isn’t time. I did a string of great visits these past few weeks, and each had its own terrific story.
I’m going to have to pick just one. I visited Deposit Elementary for the second time in three years, and the return visit was just as great as the first one.
Before I began my first presentation, the kids surprised me with a terrific pirate dance. (Click here to watch the whole thing.)
Later, for lunch, I got an amazing surprise. Ms. Scalis’ second grade class prepared a Lion’s Share feast that had to be seen to be believed. They started with the scene from the book where all the animals are having dinner with the king…
…then recreated it, animal by animal, life-size, around a big table in their classroom. That’s where we had lunch.
And the lunch! Holy cow, was it good…
The rest of the day was just as much fun. The kids were great, and the whole school was full of positive energy and amazing artwork. To everyone at Deposit, let me just say that you really outdid yourselves this time.
